Camping in and around Grand Teton National Park

The Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks Travel Guides are a resource for those planning to tour Yellowstone National Park and/or Grand Teton National Park. The adjacent national parks are typically visited at the same time and offer very different experiences. Yellowstone offers the world's largest concentration of thermal features such as geysers and hot pools. Grand Teton features one of the world's most spectacular mountain ranges. Both parks offer outstanding opportunities to view wildlife.

Grand Teton National Park is served by seven campgrounds. Reservations are available at the Colter Bay Village RV Park and the Headwaters Campground and RV Sites at Flagg Ranch. The other campgrounds are first-come, first-served, advance reservations are not accepted. The smaller lakeside campgrounds fill up in the morning but sites can be generally found in the larger campgrounds.

Camping in Grand Teton National Park

Reservations are also available for group camping at Colter Bay and Gros Ventre campgrounds. The sites range in capacity from 10 to 100 people. Advance reservations are required and may be made through the Grand Teton Lodge Company at (800) 628-9988 or (307) 543-3100.

Reservations are strongly advised especially if you have a very long RV (30 feet and over). There are a very limited number of sites over 30 feet throughout the park. It’s your responsibility to book a site large enough to accommodate all of your equipment.

There are alternatives to camping inside the park. There are several National Forest, State, or commercial campgrounds located within 37 miles of Grand Teton. See below for more information.

Opening dates for all campgrounds are weather dependent. For details on camping, including current fees, please use the links provided below.
